On Staten Island, we saw roving bands of volunteers helping homeowners with the painful and slow cleanup process.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acitytraced.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Sandy_Staten-Island-02_shrp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-168\" title=\"Sandy_Staten Island 02_shrp\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acitytraced.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Sandy_Staten-Island-02_shrp-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"388\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We ended the day at a neighborhood directly abutting a marina and witnessed the after-affects of yachts turned into missiles as piers were lifted off of their pilings. The absurd and horrible destruction of Sandy is mind-bending.
